Quilt Sizes
I often get questions about quilt sizes. This is especally common when it comes to makeing T-shirt quilts. Many quilting companies try to take the art out of quilting and turn it into a science. Because of this they will tell you that a twin is 12 t-shirts a full is 16 ect. And this makes it very easy for the quilt maker, but very difficult for a customer if they have 20 shirts and want it a twin extra long to fit a dorm bed.
Quilts are an art and even the most basic quilter knows that a the squares can be cut in many different sizes. This means 12 shirts can be a twin, but so can 20. 20 shirts can be a twin but they can also be a king depending on how large the blocks are cut.
This is why before I take any quilting contract I have the customer fill out a form that asks various questions about what they need. With these forms I can adjust the size of the squares and sashing to make the quilt exactly the size they need. SO DON"T WORRY! Your quilt can be what ever size you choose, no matter what pattern or number of shirts you want.
Have you seen a baby quilt you love but prefer that it be made as a King,
YES, I can do that!
